Regulations for arresting minors

[December 2014] - The regulations for arresting minors in the West Bank have been made publicly available following the submission of a Freedom of Information (FOI) application. The guidelines apply to both the Israeli military and police operating in the West Bank.

Stone Cold Justice wins top award for investigative journalism

[December 2014] - At the annual Australian Walkley Awards for Excellence in Journalism held in Sydney, the joint Four Corners, ABC TV and The Australian documentary "Stone Cold Justice" won the best award for investigative journalism. In October 2014, Stone Cold Justice also won two United Nations Association awards.

Child detention raised in UK parliamentary debate

[December 2014] - On 1 December 2014, the UK Parliament debated a motion on Palestine. During the course of the debate the issue of the detention and prosecution of children in Israel's military court system was raised. According to UNICEF Israel is the only country to systematically prosecute children in a military courts.

G4S responds to MPs' questions - but is it satisfactory?

[November 2014] - On 27 October 2014, members of the UK Parliament wrote to the CEO of G4S, Mr. Ashley Almanza, requesting full disclosure of the underlying documents used to prepare a review published on the Company's web site. The company responded on 30 October but did not provide any additional documentation.

Undermining the rule of law

[November 2014] - For some time now the Israeli Military Courts Unit has distributed a five-page briefing paper to foreign delegations visiting the military courts in the West Bank. The briefing paper asserts that the military courts were established in accordance with international law.
